Garrett Boersma is lifelong consistent conservative Republican and experienced businessman with a proven record of fighting for limited government, lower taxes, and our Christian values during his two-terms on the Marshall City Council.
Raised in East Texas, Garrett attended the University of North Texas where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance. Currently, Garrett lives and works in his home town of Marshall, TX, where he serves as President of Commercial Resources, a commercial real estate development and finance company. He has successfully completed commercial real estate development projects and is responsible for all aspects of projects including managing the construction.
As a small businessman, Garrett opposes excessive taxes and regulations that kill jobs and economic prosperity. As our next state representative, Garrett will fight to promote free enterprise, reduce government spending, protect unborn life, preserve the Second Amendment, secure our border and put a stop to illegal immigration, and support local control and competition in our education system.
Garrett is committed to our community, serving as a member of the Courthouse Preservation Council, Friends of Marshall Animals Board, and the Citizen’s Advisory Council. He has also volunteered countless hours as past President of the Harrison County Historical Museum, and as a former board member for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Big Pines, Harrison County Historical Commission and the Harrison County Children's Services board.
Garrett attends First United Methodist Church in Marshall. He is engaged to marry Jonna Fitzgerald of Tyler, TX.
